Danielle the Doula

Welcome to my little birthy corner of the internet! My name is Danielle (she/her) and I live in Widnes, Cheshire with my husband and our two beautiful sons. I am a Doula, Hypnobirthing Instructor and Pregnant Bump & Body Caster. I cover the areas of Widnes, Warrington, St Helens and Liverpool.

​The birth of my amazing little boy George in 2018 changed my life forever. It made me extremely passionate about birth and the postnatal period and I have now made it my mission to ensure everyone I work with can prepare well to have the best experience possible.

My Interests & Qualifications

​

​I have a long and varied work background within the charity and voluntary sectors where I have provided various support services for individuals, groups, children, adults and families. I am a qualified Holistic Therapist and have previously ran a very successful business offering Reiki, Crystal Therapy, Meditation and Life coaching. I also turned my hand to crystal jewellery making, sourcing, producing and selling my creations across the UK. Lastly, I am a passionate, hands on artist - I love to paint and make sculptures which makes my current work of casting beautiful pregnant bumps an absolute pleasure.

​I trained to become a Doula with Jen Muir of Badass Doulas and as a Hypnobirthing Instructor with The Birth Uprising. We know that, unfortunately, birth is not safe or equal for everyone. I am passionate about providing inclusive, safe services for all which is why I trained with providers who's work is rooted in birth activism.

​

I am a huge advocate of breastfeeding and I am trained as a Peer Supporter. It is essential to me that you are able to feed your baby in the way that you would like to and be able to be directed to reliable and impartial information and support if needed.

​​On a personal level, I have given birth to two amazing children - one via gentle caesarean. I have first hand experience of navigating the current maternity system with two high risk pregnancies which has given me bags of insight and experience.

​

Family-wise I originate from a long line of feisty Italian women. I come from a big family and have been around children my entire life. I love food, espresso martinis and travelling. I also love education and have an MSc in Psychology where my dissertation explored the lived experiences of women transitioning into motherhood.

​

You can find me consulting my angel cards one minute and delving into a hefty piece of scientific research the next. I love life and enjoy finding ways to grow through new experiences.

​Me as a Doula

​

​My aim as a Doula is to put YOU at the centre of everything I do. For me, you are always the most important person in the room. Your baby, your body, your birth. I am simply there to hold space and provide any information or support you may need to ensure your journey into parenthood is the best it can be. I am kind and extremely empathetic. I am warm and friendly and love nothing more than putting the world to rights over a cuppa. As your Doula and/or Hypnobirthing Instructor I will aim to be a constant source of positive support. I will aim to be there for you as a companion and confidant.
